Today was the first lesson which startet with a Kind and quiet Spirit. He was not nervous and didn’t avoided listening by moving at bending and stellning in stand.
He was very good in taking weight on his haunches and in groundwork in walk our harmony was better than the last times. We can communicate with body language now, so Bent wanted to the changing position into longing. Even this worked better without to much tempo.
Spirit has to stay in the right bending on the longe. It’s a precondition for making smaller and bigger circles. If there is a conter stellning an bending the inside hindleg can’t go under the horses body. Instead it would push backwarts. That’s not what we want! Later when we want our horse to canter that would be a problem.
In my opinion Spirit and I did a good job today. Especially with the aids through the whip. We have the whip in every position. It can be inside/outside leg or inside/outside rain. Spirit was so nice and friendly in the arena. All the other days it wasn’t this feeling like today. And I see, I was impatient… Spirit needed more time to calm down on this foreign place. We‘ re almost two weeks here, there is much time to learn.
